Morning Muzing – Getting Everything In Today

Sitting on the couch with the Disney Princess adjustable table I bought Tori four years ago. It makes a nice notebook table. Just the right size to hold my notebook, mousepad, and a little room for my coffee. This morning I am muzing about the coming day’s activities.

I really shouldn’t waste time on this, but I feel compelled to. Mom has an appointment early afternoon, so whatever I do must be something I can stop in time to get ready. I will take her to eat before we go. I don’t want to see her experience a drop in blood sugar because she hasn’t eaten.

Then we will probably have a trip to the pharmacy following the appointment. It seems every doctor prescribes something. She may have something else she needs to do while we are out.

At one time I had a pretty good routine set up. As I mentioned before, I have one client that I do on-site work for, only one. I could go there, finish up what they needed, and work on other things from there. I treat that office as a satellite, or field office. I got up, walked the dogs, fed all the animals, dressed and went in to the office.

Some afternoons I came home early to take care of housework, and do some writing, emailing, blog updating, and stuff. This would leave me mostly free for the weekend to go and do whatever Wayne wanted to do.

Now, on average, two days each week are spent on medical appointments and errands with Mom. It has thrown my routine off so much I struggle to create a new one. I thank God that I have the ability to be as flexible as I am! As I said previously, I am not complaining. I’m trying to work out a new plan.

My little garden has been neglected. The dogs don’t get the exercise they need. The house is a shambles. My Bible study is behind. I haven’t properly rehearsed songs for church, and it is showing. And, my book is suffering. (I should be writing on the book rather than blogging.)

My administrative consulting business is really suffering. My freelance writing is almost non-existent. Things are just barely getting done.

Time to make the donuts.
