Jesus went to a temple in Jerusalem

June 4, 2020

The two times we see Jesus get angry to the point of violence were related directly to behaviors INSIDE the temple.

At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus went to a temple in Jerusalem during Passover. John 2:14 tells us Jesus found ox, sheep, and doves being sold INSIDE the temple walls. He ran the sellers out because of WHERE they were selling. John records Jesus saying, “[M]ake not My Father’s House an House of merchandise.”

At the end of His ministry, Matthew 21:13 records Jesus again going to the temple, turns over the tables of the money changers, and says, “My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.”

Now, let me be clear: I am not a Bible scholar. I am just a plain Christian American woman who has a relationship with the Lord Jesus. I converse with Him (yes, sometimes out loud), I read the Bible, and I follow His instruction as best as a flawed human can.

No where, let me repeat in bold type, no where in the New Testament does Jesus tell us one race, or one gender is better than another.

No where.
