One of the projects I undertook for the remodel is an entryway seat. Mr. Holstein specifically requested a chair where he can take his boots off when he comes home from work. He rarely requests things so specifically, and it wasn’t something unreasonable, so I started looking.
I found this seat at the Union Mission Store, while there with my sister. It was sturdy, reasonably sized, and a great price. I purchased it and brought it right home.
Obviously the seat needed reupholstered. The fabric and cushion material was long past the use by date. I had just enough of the blue and black fabric from another project to do all the cushions. I stopped by JoAnn Fabrics in Dunbar for the pillow material.
The seats and backs were glued and stapled to the frame. It took a while to pick out the staples and free them. Some of the fabric was glued to the backing. That took a little time to remove.
I think the result was worth the effort! A little touch-up on some scratches is all that is needed now. Mr. Holstein is pleased, it looks nice, and that makes it all worth it!
Oh, the snake? My grand-nephew put that there to scare me.
Have you taken on a new upholstery project lately?
