It HAS been a long time since I shared with you things that are going on over here. Hopefully, I will get some of my projects from December and January posted for you to see. I have to be honest, I’ve been way over my head since the first of the year.
The husband and I purchased a house. It is almost 100 years old. We spend a lot of time cleaning, fixing, and “restoring” things.
From what I can learn, it is a Dutch Colonial Revival style home. It has that weird, almost barn shaped roof. The original Masonite wallboard is still in place in most rooms. The original oak flooring is in all but one room. We uncovered one fireplace that was covered in the dining room.
We are trying to return some of the original character to the house. I’ve found historical paint colors at Sherwin-Williams, searched online for old advertisements that will give a hint of how to decorate, and sought-out a kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and bathtub that are within the 1920s general era.
Not everything will be old-school. We will have central heat/air, television, phones, and computers. A girl has to have her technology you know. I’ll try to get some stuff posted and keep you in the know the best I can.
