The living room in the Big House will have a more contemporary look than some of the other rooms. Let’s face it, satellite television wasn’t available with DVR in the 1920s-30s.
I went to a local furniture store to look at the tent sale items. Mr. Holstein mentioned years ago he preferred a leather couch. I figured I’d get him one this time, since our current couch is microfiber and the dogs have made a mess of it.
I found the most gorgeous red bonded leather couch. The cushions were plump and soft. I fell in love. I now needed a chair.
I went inside and looked at chairs and found the perfect one! It was quirky, and a bold choice for me. I generally go with modest furnishing. When I sat in the chair I was comfortable. The red in the design would play well off the couch. So, I found a salesman and made the purchase.
When I sent a photo to Mr. Holstein he responded, “That is the ugliest chair I have ever seen!” Facebook friends were split. Males hated the chair, females tended to love it. My son just asked me not to force him to sit on it.
I think they make a nice grouping. What do you think?
