The Holstein House Story: Vintage Charm, Personal Hospitality

“Holstein House is our home-share bed and breakfast,” says proprietor Robin Holstein. “We want our guests to feel like extended family.”

Since 2017, the Holsteins have opened their doors to travelers from over ten countries, proving that the best travel experiences aren’t found in corporate hotels, but in the warmth of a shared home.

A Step Back in Time

Purchased in 2016, our 1920s-era Dutch Colonial home is a living gallery of history. From the iconic gambrel roof to the 100-year-old clawfoot tub and cast-iron sink (dated 1918), every corner of the house features vignettes that recall a simpler time.

Your stay is anchored by our cozy guest room, featuring a beautiful antique iron-frame full bed—a peaceful retreat from the modern world.

A Taste of the Season

Mornings at Holstein House start with a curated, light Continental breakfast.

  • Always Available: Fresh breads, fruit, and homemade jellies and spreads.

  • Seasonal Treats: Depending on the time of year, you might find Robin baking fresh muffins or specialty breads.

  • Unique Add-ons: Guests can also purchase farm-fresh chicken or duck eggs, fruit butters, and unique breakfast specialties like blueberry brown rice porridge, corn mush with molasses, or cheesy potato cakes.

Why Book Direct?

While online travel agents (like Airbnb or Booking.com) offer convenience, they also charge extra fees to both the traveler and the host. Booking directly with Holstein House eliminates those middleman costs, providing you with the best possible value.

Direct Booking Perks include:

  • Lower Rates: No platform service fees.

  • Exclusive Treats: Special discounts and menu items available only to our direct guests.

  • First Access: Early notice on new offerings and seasonal specials.

  • Flexible Payments: We accept a variety of payment methods, including Bitcoin (BTC).

Welcome to our home.

“We offer a smaller, more family like experience. No matter how you stay with us, it will never feel corporate.”
