Day three with my Surface and I find it’s a love/hate relationship so far. I love the size, weight, and convenience of the new tablet. Unfortunately, I am learning the keyboard is way too sensitive and the touch screen flaky.
Most of the work I have done with the Surface has been social media. Yesterday, I took notes at a board meeting for a client and quickly got frustrated. Perhaps it’s my ham-handedness, but the keyboard seems very sensitive. I would be in the middle of a sentence and suddenly realize my cursor had jumped one or two lines up and I was writing in the middle of a previous sentence. I will give the Surface the benefit of a doubt and assume I am tapping the mouse pad, instead of the space bar, with my thumb.
I have ordered a converter that should let me connect to a traditional projector. The Surface only offers a USB and Micro USB connection. This will allow me to use the tablet to give presentations. I hope to be doing more of this soon, as I continue writing my book(s). My plan is to update Think Outside The Office, to get my chapbook of poetry printed, and to write about my son, Bryan. I may even put together a table book of photos, if I get more that I think are worthy.
So, now it’s 6:24 a.m. I have had one cup of coffee, my breakfast, and fed the cats. I am going to work on my webinar outline, then shower and head to town for some client work.
